You don't have to be from Georgia, to grow in Georgia.
The growth in the Southeast has ushered in a wave of new residents and businesses of all sizes. As our communities grow, so does the need for reliable infrastructure and the companies that support its development at all levels.
Pierce Powerline is one of the companies that is helping provide Georgians with safe, and reliable solutions in all facets of infrastructure for utility construction projects.
Pierce Powerline started in Michigan with four trucks and crew of six. As they pursued new opportunities for growth, they connected with Southern Company’s Supplier Inclusion Business Development Program.
The Supplier Diversity Business Development Program helps build relationships between Southern Company employees with buying authority and diverse and small suppliers, enabling them to increase awareness of opportunities at Southern Company, and giving purchasing employees wider supplier choices.
“We recognize the need to provide a space for diverse vendors to work with our company,” shared Michelle Fuqua, District Engineering Manager, about working with Pierce Power.
Pursuing larger customers and projects influenced Pierce to obtain third-party certifications. They are recognized as a Certified Minority-Owned Business Enterprise, Small Business Administration (SBA) 8a Certified, and Woman-Owned Small Business.
These partnerships and certifications are paying off. Today, Pierce has expanded their offices to include Georgia and grown their team to over 100 employees.
