Okabashi Brands
Okabashi Brands is been a family owned and operated manufacturer of sandals promoting foot health and wellness. In 1984, Bahman Irvani (son of a British-Iranian immigrant) founded Okabashi Brands, Inc., in Buford, Georgia. Since then, Okabashi has produced and sold over 35 million pairs of shoes. In a time where 99% of American-worn footwear is made abroad, they are proud to be in the 1% of footwear brands made in the U.S.A.
The company values stewardship and care for the environment. That is why their proprietary material is made in the USA and is 100% recyclable. They operate in a closed loop manufacturing system that takes back customer's well-loved Okabashi shoes to recycle. The material is also vegan and cruelty free.
Today the company is lead by CEO, Sara Irvani. She took the family business over after her father Bahman ran the facility for over thirty-five years. Watch the video below to meet Sara as she shares her story as a women and minority-owned business leader.
